I needed the minimally invasive access Laparoscopic surgery, the Gastric banding for weight loss and i was introduced to Life Smile through my friend.

On contact over internet, Life Smile sent all the details concerning the Lap Band surgery, what I should know about the procedure and the cost, in fact the E-mails were so consistent that i never had to wait more than a day for the next bit of information i needed during my preparation for the health care journey to India. In addition to the procedure facilitation information, I also received the useful information on local weather, Hindi language phrases and numerical with important tips for a health care traveler visiting India, and these bits of information were quite useful during my medical care visit to India.

On my arrival in India, I was met and greeted at the international airport, transferred to the hotel in a private car. Whenever needed, the car with the courteous driver was always there and on time, the hotel was excellent and the Life smile staff especially the ever smiling Ms Nirmal were all wonderful. The pre-surgery sight seeing tours to Taj Mahal and Fort at Agra and the Lotus temple tour at New Delhi were all superb and I enjoyed every bit of it. Life Smile never forgot to pass on any information, no matter how minute, whether on monetary issues or on the co-ordination of the activities that culminated into the final day of the surgery.

My Laparoscopic surgeon struck me as a gentleman who knows his onus and I relaxed quite a bit. My pre-surgery medical tests showed Gall bladder stones and my surgeon decided to perform Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy surgery along with the scheduled Lap Gastric Banding procedure. On the day of the surgery, he was undoubtedly in charge and instructed all his team members to change their gloves once it touches anything unwanted even it they had to do it a hundred times. Being more assured now, I went to sleep. The medical team of doctors, surgeons, nurses and medical technicians were all so neat; clean in appearance and through with the different assignments that I was really impressed. I believe India has come a long way in medicine and the rest of the world should learn something from here. I want to thank my surgeon and his team, all at Life Smile and India as a whole for giving me a new lease of life through these surgery procedures.

India is an incredible health care destination and that was my experience when I visited India for my medical treatment. I was involved in an accident that affected my urethra and for about 5 months, I waited patiently to be treated in Nigeria to no avail. The Nigerian doctors scared me with my case description and the date of surgery which was meant to solve my problem was shifted many times at the National Hospital Abuja, Nigeria. It was then that I looked for my surgery treatment options overseas. There was no response to my medical queries sent to America and Europe and few medical health care facilities that did responded could not satisfy my quest for timeliness medical care delivery at a reasonable cost surgery treatment package.

I required minimally invasive access endoscopic procedure- optical urethrotomy for urethra repair or an open surgery- urethroplasty for the urethra repairs.

My pre-travel experience was easy as my India visit visa was granted on time with in the period requested. Once in India and on my consultations with the surgeon and after the examination and medical tests the procedure to be performed was simplified to my understanding. My surgery was performed successfully later.

I had little opportunity to visit many of the interesting sites in the tour guide probably because of the nature of my medical care. Nevertheless, my perception is that India is truly ‘incredible’ from the health care to the sight of the tourism to the market places. We were at Mumbai to get one cycle of IVF treatment at the IVF hospital. The positive attitude of all the staff at the hospital and the doctors was very helpful and caring. We always liked the smiling faces at the fertility clinic and we think that is somewhat very important when undergoing any treatment.

We stayed at a rented apartment close to the hospital, we were facilitated by Life Smile and their staff took good care of all the support services we needed all through our stay. Thankful regards to all, especially our month long friend, the assistant and car driver Mr Lalsa. We had a happy stay at Mumbai, happier sightseeing tours to Agra and Delhi and the happiest shopping and leisurely day tours in and around Mumbai.
